De introductie van het internet in videogames heeft voor een hoop gezeur gezorgd. Microtransacties, lootboxes, gebroken games die na launch wel worden gefixd en meer. Gratis content updates en patches die daadwerkelijk onvoorziene problemen aanpakken zijn echter de positieve kant hiervan.

Of alle problemen van Kill It With Fire 2 daadwerkelijk onvoorzien waren, is discutabel, maar daar de game is verschenen in Steam Early Access, mag je er vanuit gaan dat er nog werk te doen is. Daarom gaan we daar niet over klagen, maar delen we in plaats daarvan de nieuwe patch notes die feedback van de spelers implementeren:

  • When playing co-op, whenever the host receives an achievement all clients will also receive that achievement.
  • Cleaning objects with the pressure washer is now considerably faster!
  • When playing co-op, only the host may start challenges.
  • Added a message informing players about interactions that only the host can perform (activating portals, buying upgrades, creating blueprints, and starting challenges).
  • The save slot menu now tracks your progress as a percentage.
  • Projectiles from player/spider tanks no longer spawn fires.
  • If you’re playing in an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 2.0 (width/height), the clipboard now only displays four objectives per page.
  • Explosions now work against swarm spiders and are incredibly effective.
  • Generally nerfed swarm spiders.
  • You can no longer vacuum spider eggs.
  • Potion ingredients are now automatically released when they enter the cauldron.
  • If you’ve successfully brewed a potion, you cannot cause the cauldron to explode until you take the potion.
  • Changed the location of the pressure washer to make it much harder to miss.
  • Added some invisible geometry to help Exterminators climb buildings in Arachnitopia.
  • Barrels of nuclear waste that are thrown into the ocean will return to their spawn location after a few seconds.
  • Repositioned the “Rad Cola” recipe to make it easier to read.
  • Fixed a bug where you could avoid damage during Breaker Challenges by repeatedly entering and exiting the fog.
  • Once you’ve been swarmed you can no longer jump.
  • Changed the models on the salt and pepper to make it more clear which is which.
  • Added one additional upgrade module to the Vindicator.
  • Fixed a performance hitch that occurs sometimes on the Vindicator.
  • Increased the speed of Darwin's text scroll drastically.
