Het bedrijf werd in 1975 opgericht en raakte toen in een stroomversnelling. Het is inmiddels één van de grootste en rijkste bedrijven ter wereld. Met de Xbox en PC draagt Microsoft zijn steentje bij aan de wereld van videogames.
