Nintendo bestrijdt R4 importeurs in Australië

Op de Douane van Australië is een lading R4-kaartjes van een importeur onderschept. Nintendo is al jaren bezig met het bestrijden van deze kaartjes en boekt dus een succes in Australië, zo meldt het bedrijf via een persbericht.

R4-kaarten worden veelal gebruikt om gedownloade DS-games op te slaan en af te spelen. Hierdoor loopt Nintendo veel omzet mis en bovendien is het gebruik illegaal. Het volgende stond in het persbericht van Nintendo:

Nintendo confirms that the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service have seized game copiers (commonly referred to as R4 cards) and other counterfeit Nintendo products from an importer attempting to distribute the products in Australia. This is the first Australian customs seizure of game copiers of this type.
