In een interview met 1UP vertelt Josh Sawyer, projectleider, dat Fallout: New Vegas geen mogelijkheid biedt om verder te spelen nadat het verhaal is beëindigd. Daarvoor zou de game teveel belangrijke gebeurtenissen kennen, waardoor het onmogelijk wordt om verder te spelen.
Ze sporen aan om de game meerdere malen uit te spelen in plaats van de game verder te blijven spelen zodat je de meerdere eindes die het spel kent, kan ontdekken. Toch wilt dit niet zeggen dat er geen downloadable content komt. Waarschijnlijk niet zoals bij Fallout 3, waar Broken Steel verder breidt op het einde.
“We put a lot of effort into the ending slides – we know those slides are really popular with people so we want to make sure there’s a huge amount of variety and reactivity with that stuff. ”
“Because the changes that can happen at the end of the game are pretty major, this is what it basically came down to: either have the changes feel really major in the end slides and then have them not be very major after the end of the game, or make them really minor and not that impactful."
Fallout: New Vegas komt uit op 22 oktober voor PC, PlayStation 3 en Xbox 360.
