Valve heeft Counter-Strike: Global Offensive officiëel aangekondigd voor PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 en Xbox 360. Een exacte releasedatum is er natuurlijk nog niet, maar deze zal ergens vroeg in 2012 vallen.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pakt het helemaal nieuw aan met onder andere nieuwe maps, personages, wapens, nieuwe gameplay modes, matchmaking en leaderboards. Ook zullen enkele oudere maps zoals De Dust geüpdate worden. De game wordt ontwikkeld door Hidden Patch Entertainment, een studio gelegen in Seatle. Er wordt beloofd dat het spel steeds zal worden uitgebreid op zowel PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 en Xbox 360.
