In de maand mei werden er niet erg veel games verkocht in Amerika. Volgens NPD, het bureau dat de cijfers bij houdt, was mei qua softwareverkopen de slechtste maand sinds oktober 2006. L.A. Noire vormde echter een uitzondering. Exemplaren van deze game gingen als zoete broodjes over de toonbank.
