Net als bijvoorbeeld films, heeft het medium videogames meerdere award shows. Een van de bekendste is BAFTA, hetgeen staat voor British Academy of Films and Television Awards.
In minder dan een maand zullen de BAFTA game awards worden uitgereikt, maar voor het zover is onthult men alvast de games die kans maken op een award. En niet geheel verrassend heeft deze lijst de nodige overeenkomsten met andere shows. Zo zien we bijvoorbeeld Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, winnaar van The Game Awards, en Untitled Goose Game, winnaar van de DICE Awards, terugkeren als kanshebbers voor de titel Beste game.
